They recorded the six-track EP with producer Brian Hood, attracting attention in the online djent community and metalcore scene through various blogs. Notably, the EP featured collaborations such as Brendon McMaster on the track 'Captive.' Following the release, the band supported established acts on tour and steadily built a regional fanbase with songs like 'Lightfinder' and early singles that showcased their progressive metalcore sound.

Signing with Tragic Hero and Everchanger Album Release

In February 2014, Invent Animate signed with Tragic Hero Records, marking a milestone in their career by joining a roster of prominent post-hardcore and metalcore bands. That year, they released their debut full-length album, Everchanger, on August 26. Stillworld Album and Evolution of Sound

Invent Animate's sophomore album Stillworld was released on July 8, 2016, under Tragic Hero Records. Departure of Founding Vocalist Ben English

In early 2018, founding vocalist Ben English announced his departure, citing the toll of constant touring and a loss of creative drive. Arrival of Marcus Vik and Greyview Release

In 2019, Marcus Vik joined Invent Animate as the new lead vocalist. The band returned to the studio and released Greyview in March 2020 through Tragic Hero Records. Release of Heavener and Expansion with UNFD

Invent Animate released their fourth studio album, Heavener, on March 17, 2023, via their new label UNFD. Story of Invent Animate

Hailing from Port Neches, Texas, Invent Animate (formerly stylized as Invent, Animate) exploded onto the metalcore scene in 2011. This quintet—vocalist Marcus Vik, lead guitarist Keaton Goldwire, rhythm guitarist Trey Celaya, bassist Caleb Sherraden, and drummer Brody Taylor Smith—quickly made a name for themselves. Their debut EP, Waves, a six-track powerhouse recorded at 456 Recordings with producer Brian Hood (ex-My Children My Bride), dropped in March 2012. Building a fervent following through relentless regional touring and a strong online presence within the djent community, the band caught the attention of Tragic Hero Records, signing with the label in February 2014.

This led to their debut full-length, Everchanger, released August 2014. They followed up with Stillworld in July 2016, solidifying their position in the metalcore landscape. Greyview, their third album and the first featuring Marcus Vik on vocals, arrived in March 2020. Most recently, Invent Animate unleashed Heavener in March 2023 via their new label home, UNFD, showcasing their continued evolution and mastery of the genre.
