At The Band Index, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page provides instructions on how to request the deletion of your data from our service.

Your Right to Data Deletion

In accordance with applicable privacy laws and Facebook's Data Deletion Requirements, you have the right to request that we delete the personal data we have collected about you through our service.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request data deletion, we will remove the following information associated with your account:

• Your account information (name, email address, profile data)
• Authentication data from third-party services (Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
• Your usage data and activity history on The Band Index (comments, likes, favorites, and community interactions)
• Any personal preferences and settings

How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your data from The Band Index, please follow these steps:

Email Request

1. Send an email to [email protected]
2. Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request" or "Delete My Account"
3. Include the following information in your email:
   • Your full name
   • The email address associated with your The Band Index account
   • The third-party service you used to log in (if applicable): Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn
   • Your user ID (if known) - this helps us locate your data more quickly

Data Deletion Timeline

Once we receive and verify your data deletion request, we will process it according to the following timeline:

• Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 48 hours
• Verification: Identity verification may take 2-5 business days
• Deletion: Your data will be permanently deleted from our Supabase database within 30 days of verification
• Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete

Data Retention Exceptions

Please note that we may retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so, including:

• Information required to comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax records, legal disputes)
• Information necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements
• Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you personally
• Backup copies in our disaster recovery systems (automatically purged within 90 days)

Facebook Data Deletion

If you logged into The Band Index using Facebook, you can also manage your data through Facebook's platform:

1. Go to your Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites
2. Find "The Band Index" in the list
3. Click "Remove" to revoke access
4. Select the checkbox for "Delete your The Band Index activity" if you want Facebook to request deletion of your data from our service

When Facebook sends us a data deletion request on your behalf, we will process it according to Facebook's Data Deletion Callback policy and the timeline described above.

Data Storage Information

Your personal data is stored securely in our Supabase database infrastructure. Supabase uses PostgreSQL databases with enterprise-grade security, encryption at rest and in transit, and regular security audits to protect your information.
