Terms of Use

1. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on The Band Index. You must not post, upload or send anything that:

• harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
• attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
• is sexually explicit, or sexualizes minors in any way;
• promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm, terrorism or other illegal activity;
• is spam, a scam, or deliberately misleading, or impersonates someone else;
• shares someone's private information without their consent;
• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.

We remove content that breaks these rules, and we suspend or permanently ban the accounts that post it, without notice.

2. Reporting and blocking

Every post, reply and contest take has a … menu (or long-press a post in the app) with Report and Block user. Blocking hides that person's content from you straight away; manage blocked people under Me → Blocked users in the app.

We review every report within 24 hours. Objectionable content is removed and the users who posted it are removed from the Service. You can also email [email protected].

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete your account at any time (in the app: Me → Delete account), which also deletes the content you posted.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, show, copy and share it as part of the Service. Only post content you have the right to share. We may remove any content at our discretion.

5. Band, festival and event information

Band, festival and event information comes from public sources and contributors and may be incomplete or out of date. Ticket links take you to other companies; any purchase is between you and them.

6. Intellectual property

The Service's software and design belong to us. Band names, logos and artwork belong to their owners. If you believe something on the Service infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the details and we will review it and remove it where appropriate.

7. Ending access

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users.

9. The App Store

If you use the iOS app, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, the app asks you to agree again before you continue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
