Whitesnake 的故事
1978 年的倫敦，Whitesnake 自 Deep Purple 的灰燼中浴火重生。起初它是作為 David Coverdale 的伴奏樂團而成立，但很快就超越了原本的定位，成為一股不容小覷的強大力量。在樂團輝煌的歷史中，Coverdale 是唯一始終堅守的成員。
在樂團成立初期，他們發行了 Snakebite EP 以及 Trouble 和 Lovehunter 等專輯，並孕育出如 "Aint No Love in the Heart of the City" 與 "Walking in the Shadow of the Blues" 等現場演唱的熱門經典。Whitesnake 迅速征服了英國、歐洲和日本市場，旗下專輯如 *Ready an Willing*、Live... in the Heart of the City、Come an` Get It 和 Saints & Sinners 皆全數攻入英國排行榜前十名。
到了 80 年代中期，Coverdale 將目光投向美國，而當時 Whitesnake 在美國的知名度仍相對較低。與 Geffen Records 的簽約改變了一切。1984 年的專輯 Slide It In 憑藉著在 MTV 熱播的單曲 "Love Aint No Stranger" 和 "Slow an Easy"，大幅開拓了他們的受眾。然而，他們真正石破天驚的突破是 1987 年發行的同名專輯。這張獲得多白金唱片認證的巨作，在單曲 "Here I Go Again"、"Is This Love" 和 "Still of the Night" 的推波助瀾下，光是在美國就賣出了超過八百萬張。在這個時期，樂團也融入了更具現代感的洛杉磯華麗金屬美學。
