Forged in the heart of Pisa, Tuscany, in 2009, Wind Rose stands as a formidable force in the Italian power metal scene. This unique outfit, renowned for its distinct dwarven metal anthems and epic fantasy narratives, was founded by the powerful vocalist Francesco Cavalieri, intricate guitarist Claudio Falconcini, and masterful keyboardist Federico Meranda. With a discography boasting six full-length studio albums, their latest sonic assault, the highly anticipated Trollslayer, was unleashed in October 2024, further cementing their legacy.

History

Mere months after their inception, in March 2010, Wind Rose laid the groundwork for their epic journey with the release of "Demo 2010." This initial offering, expertly produced by Cristiano Bertocchi, provided an early glimpse into their burgeoning sound. The band truly roared to life on August 28, 2012, with the launch of their debut full-length album, Shadows Over Lothadruin, distributed through Bakerteam Records, a vital division of the respected Scarlet Records.

The years 2013 and 2014 saw Wind Rose embark on an ambitious campaign, conquering stages across Europe. They notably provided direct support for metal stalwarts such as Wintersun, Finntroll, and Epica, showcasing their potent live performance to an ever-expanding audience. During this pivotal period in 2014, Cristiano Bertocchi, having previously contributed behind the production desk, seamlessly transitioned into a full-fledged member, solidifying the band`s thunderous rhythm section on bass just before they entered the studio to record their sophomore effort.

February 2015 marked another significant stride as Wind Rose joined Eluveitie on their massive Origins European tour, further honing their stage presence. Later that year, their highly anticipated second studio album, Wardens of the West Wind, was proudly unveiled by Scarlet Records. Continuing their relentless touring schedule, October found them back on the road, supporting Ensiferum during their Spanish leg of the One Man Army European tour. Following these extensive live engagements, Wind Rose dedicated the entirety of 2016 to meticulously crafting new material, focusing on refining their signature sound and lyrical themes. Their dedication bore fruit in 2017, as they inked a pivotal deal with Inner Wound Recordings, setting the stage for the release of their acclaimed third album, Stonehymn – a testament to their unwavering commitment to epic fantasy metal.
