Formation of Xibalba in Pomona, California

Xibalba was formed in 2007 in Pomona, California, when longtime friends Nate Rebolledo, Brian Ortiz, Jason Brunes, and Bryan Valdivia sought to create dark and heavy hardcore punk music influenced by death metal and doom metal. Prior to Xibalba, these friends had experience playing together in various hardcore punk bands. Their vision was to blend aggressive hardcore sounds with unique and eccentric metal influences, setting the foundation for their distinctive style in the underground music scene.
2010

Release of Debut Album 'Madre mía gracias por los días'

In 2010, Xibalba self-released their debut album, 'Madre mía gracias por los días,' showcasing their blend of hardcore punk and metal influences. The album was initially released independently and through Beatdown Hardware Records, establishing their presence in the hardcore community. The record was re-released on June 21, 2011, by A389 Recordings and Southern Lord Recordings, allowing wider distribution and recognition.
