1997

Formation of Halestorm and early beginnings

Halestorm was formed in 1997 in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, by siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale when they were just teenagers. Lzzy started with piano at age five and moved on to guitar lessons at sixteen, while Arejay began playing drums early on. Initially, the band was seen as a Christian rock group, promoting positive messages against drugs, sex, and violence during their early tours. Their father, Roger Hale, performed bass with them in their first live shows. Early releases included two EPs called Forecast for the Future (1997) and (Don't Mess With The) Time Man (1999). This early period set the foundation for their hard rock sound and live performance energy.
2003–2005

Lineup solidification and signing with Atlantic Records

In 2003, guitarist Joe Hottinger joined the band, and in 2004, bassist Josh Smith replaced their father Roger Hale, establishing the core lineup of Halestorm. The band signed a record deal with Atlantic Records on June 28, 2005. This marked a new phase for the group, transitioning from local performances to professional recording and broader exposure. They also released a live EP titled One and Done in 2006, which captured early live performances and helped build anticipation among rock audiences.
2009

Release of debut album Halestorm

Halestorm released their self-titled debut album on April 28, 2009, through Atlantic Records. It showcased their hard rock style with singles like 'I Get Off' leading the album promotion. Videos and singles such as 'It's Not You', 'Love/Hate Heartbreak', and 'Familiar Taste of Poison' followed, establishing them in the rock music scene. This debut solidified their presence and introduced their powerful live performance style to a wider audience. The band also released the live CD/DVD Live in Philly 2010, documenting their energetic concerts.
2012

Breakthrough with The Strange Case Of... and Grammy Award

Halestorm released their critically acclaimed second album, The Strange Case Of..., in April 2012. The album included the hit single 'Love Bites (So Do I)', which garnered a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013. This made them the first female-fronted band to win in that category. Their success was bolstered by singles like 'Freak Like Me' which reached number one on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The album and accolades marked a turning point, elevating their status within the rock and metal community worldwide.
2015

Release of third album Into the Wild Life and continued success

In 2015, Halestorm released their third studio album, Into the Wild Life, which peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 chart. Fourth album Vicious and mainstream recognition

Release of sixth album Everest
