Hailing from Cedarville, Ohio, Wolves at the Gate stands as a formidable force in the American Christian metalcore scene. Formed in 2008, this dynamic outfit is renowned for its intense sound, blend of clean and harsh vocals, and deeply spiritual lyrics. Currently a cornerstone of the iconic Solid State Records roster, the band has cultivated a prolific discography, unveiling a robust catalog comprising five EPs, six full-length albums, and three festive Christmas singles over the years.

Their impactful releases on Solid State include the EPs: We Are the Ones (2011), Back to School (2013), Reprise (2015), Dawn (2020), and Lowborn (2022). Their studio albums, cornerstones of modern metalcore, feature Captors (2012), VxV (2014), Types & Shadows (2016), Eclipse (2019), Eulogies (2022), and the eagerly anticipated Wasteland (2025).

History & Breakthrough:

Wolves at the Gate`s journey began in 2008 in Cedarville, Ohio, quickly establishing their presence with a raw, uncompromising sound. Their earliest known material arrived in 2009 with the debut demo EP, Prisoner of War. This rare, foundational release features tracks never officially re-recorded for subsequent albums, making it a coveted piece for dedicated fans, primarily accessible through digital archives like YouTube and snippets on their ReverbNation page. Shortly after its initial release, drummer Ryan Connelly departed, marking an early lineup change for the burgeoning band.

In 2010, the band independently recorded and unveiled the We Are the Ones EP. Demonstrating their resourceful, DIY spirit, all drum parts on this release were skillfully programmed by guitarist/vocalist Steve Cobucci, recorded in engineer Tyler Smith`s unconventional apartment studio, famously situated behind a funeral home. This early independent effort caught the attention of Solid State Records, leading to their signing in September 2011. The label celebrated this pivotal partnership by re-releasing We Are the Ones on November 15, 2011, as an expanded edition. This refreshed version boasted newly designed cover art, two essential bonus tracks, and a highly sought-after physical CD release exclusively through Hot Topic, solidifying their breakout moment in the metalcore landscape.
