Sun Kil Moon

Formed in the United States in 2002, Sun Kil Moon emerged as one of the most distinctive projects in contemporary American folk rock. Serving primarily as the creative vehicle for singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek, the group built upon the foundations of slowcore and indie folk to create a sound that is both deeply intimate and atmospherically expansive. The band continued their critical hot streak with the lush, double-album April in 2008, the nylon-string guitar-focused Admiral Fell Promises in 2010, and the darkly humorous, starkly autobiographical Among the Leaves in 2012. Together, these releases cemented Sun Kil Moon as a towering and influential force in modern independent music.
