2011-2012

Formation and Debut of Speed

Speed originally began as the male unit of Co-Ed School under Core Contents Media. In November 2011, Kangho left the group and was replaced by Shin Jongkook. In January 2012, the group was named Speed and debuted with the single album 'Hommage to Lovely-Dovey' featuring the title track 'Lovey Dovey-Plus,' a remake of T-ara's hit. The music video featured Ryu Hwayoung and Ryu Hyoyoung. They made their first live performance on February 14, 2012, on Music Bank. Shortly after, Sejun was added to the group. Later in 2012, they shifted between the main label Core Contents Media and its subsidiary GM Contents Media. In September 2012, members Kwanghaeng and Noori left, replaced by Yuhwan and Taeha respectively in October.

2013

Release of 'Speed of Light' Single Album and Debut Album 'Superior SPEED'

In early 2013, Speed prepared their official debut album. They pre-released the single album 'Speed of Light' on January 7, 2013, with the title track 'Sad Promise.' The promotions included two music videos for the song—a dance version featuring Davichi's Kang Minkyung and a drama version starring notable actors like Park Bo-young and Ji Chang-wook. On January 15, they released their debut album 'Superior SPEED' with the lead single 'It's Over,' produced by Shinsadong Tiger. The single also received two music videos in both dance and drama versions. They followed up with a repackage album titled 'Blow Speed' featuring the track 'Pain the Love of Heart' in February 2013. During this period, the group established themselves as a separate entity, distinct from Co-Ed School.

2014

Mini Concert in Mongolia and Release of 'Speed Circus' Mini Album

In early 2014, Speed held a showcase in Mongolia and performed multiple tracks along with guest stars. From February 3 to 7, they performed at UNIQOL AX Hall to promote their first mini-album 'Speed Circus,' released on February 18, 2014. The album featured songs largely written and produced by member Taewoon, who also contributed significantly to choreography. Music videos were released for tracks including 'Don't Tease Me,' 'Why I'm Not,' and Taewoon's solo 'Focus.' They later released a repackaged edition titled 'Look at Me Now' with three additional tracks. The music video for 'Zombie Party,' featuring Shannon, was released in March 2014, highlighting their active promotion and evolving style.

2015

Gradual Disbandment and End of Activities

In late 2015, MBK Entertainment (formerly Core Contents Media) removed Speed's profile page from its official website without any formal announcement, leading to widespread reports of the group's disbandment. The removal signaled the end of official activities for Speed as a group. Over their active years, Speed transitioned from an original sub-unit of Co-Ed School to an independent group with evolving line-ups and musical styles. They left a mark in the K-pop scene through their distinct releases and live performances but quietly disbanded around this time as members pursued individual careers or other ventures.
