Snuff

Formed in the United Kingdom in 1986, Snuff has spent decades carving out a distinct, enduring niche within the global punk landscape. Operating at the vibrant intersection of skate punk, melodic hardcore, and ska punk, the band developed a kinetic style defined by lightning-fast tempos, raspy melodic harmonies, and bright brass flourishes. While deeply indebted to the foundational grit of traditional British punk rock, Snuff distinguished themselves through an infectious pub-rock sensibility, razor-sharp hooks, and an irreverent, self-deprecating wit that set them apart from their more austere contemporaries.

The group first established their reputation in the late 1980s and early 1990s, launching their discography with the outrageously titled 1989 debut LP, SnuffSaidButGorBlimeyGuvStoneMeIfHeDidn’tThrowAWobblerChaChaChaChaChaChaChaChaChaYou’reGoingHomeInACosmicAmbience. They quickly built on this foundation with inventive releases such as the 1990 mini-album Flibbiddydibbiddydob and 1992s Reach. After navigating an initial split and subsequent reformation in the mid-1990s, the band returned in peak form to align with the eras soaring punk revival, releasing standout efforts like 1996`s acclaimed Demmamussabebonk alongside the vibrant live release Oishie Deh!

Over their expansive career spanning more than three decades, Snuff has preserved a fiercely dedicated underground following across the globe. Characterized by an unpretentious work ethic and a sound that effortlessly bridges chaotic punk speed with genuine musicality, the outfit remains a beloved cornerstone of the British underground, revered as one of the UK punk scene`s most reliably energetic and uniquely charming institutions.
