2021

Formation of PeelingFlesh and early releases

PeelingFlesh was formed in 2021 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma. The band consists of Damonteal Harris (vocals), Jason Parrish (guitar), Mychal Soto (guitar), Joe Pelletier (drums), and initially Austin Hirom on bass until 2025. Their musical style is a unique blend of slamming brutal death metal with hardcore influences, incorporating samples from hip-hop and Blaxploitation films, which they term 'Slamming Gangster Groove.' Early in the year, the band released several EPs including 'Winter Mixtape Promo,' 'Slamaholics,' 'Deformed Through Gluttony' (a split release), and 'Bathtub Execution.' These releases helped establish their presence in the death metal scene and showcased their distinctive and aggressive sound.
2022

Continued Releases and Compilation Debut

In 2022, PeelingFlesh continued to expand their discography with the release of EPs 'Ghetto as Hell' and 'Human Pudding,' further developing their unique sound and thematic content focused on gore, murder, and thuggery. This year also saw the release of their compilation 'Slampilation Mixtape,' which collected some of their standout tracks and further cemented their reputation in the brutal death metal community. The band's innovative mixing of hardcore and death metal elements gained them recognition and a growing fanbase.
2023

Live Performance at Oklahoma Death Fest and New EPs

PeelingFlesh gained increased visibility in 2023 by performing at the Oklahoma Death Fest, sharing the stage with well-known bands such as Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation. This performance was pivotal in raising their profile within the death metal scene. They also released two more EPs, 'PF Radio' and 'Slamaholics Vol. 2,' continuing their prolific output of music. Their presence at a major metal festival and their consistent release schedule demonstrated their rising influence and commitment to their musical style.
2024

Release of Debut Album 'The G Code' and Major Tour

In September 2024, PeelingFlesh released their debut full-length album titled 'The G Code.' This album featured notable collaborations with artists such as DJ MRD, Tim Louth (Cold Hard Truth), Alex Erian and Steve Marois (both of Despised Icon), and Matti Way (Disgorge, Abominable Putridity, Liturgy). 'The G Code' was a significant milestone that showcased their growth and consolidation as a band within the brutal death metal genre. Later in 2024, PeelingFlesh joined major acts Whitechapel and Revocation for the 'Death and Decay' North American tour, expanding their audience across the continent and cementing their standing in the metal community. Additionally, they released the split EP 'Brainflesh' with Brains Outward and a compilation '3 Year Peeling Spree,' marking their third anniversary with substantial musical output.
2025

Lineup Change and Continued Releases

In 2025, PeelingFlesh underwent a lineup change when bassist Austin Hirom departed the band. Despite the shift, the band continued to be productive and engaged with their fans, releasing the EP 'PF Radio 2.' Their evolving sound and steadfast dedication ensured that they maintained momentum following their debut album's success and extensive touring. As they progressed, PeelingFlesh remained a notable force in the brutal death metal scene with their distinctive style and dynamic collaborations.
