Formation of Missing Link in New York

Missing Link formed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns in New York. The lineup featured musicians active in the Northeastern hardcore scene, including Evan Perino, who also engineered recordings at The Hydeaway Studio. Vocalist Alex Kelly, guitarist Mike Marino, bassist Nick Shulha, and drummer John DiStefano rounded out the original core lineup. The group began writing songs influenced by late 1990s metallic hardcore and New York hardcore bands such as Merauder and All Out War.

2020

Release of My Time on the Cross EP

In 2020, Missing Link released their debut extended play titled My Time on the Cross. The self-released four-song record included tracks such as Consumed by Fear and the title track My Time on the Cross. Evan Perino recorded, mixed, and mastered the material at The Hydeaway in Rochester, New York. The EP circulated digitally on Bandcamp and streaming platforms before being pressed on cassette tapes for independent distribution across the regional underground hardcore circuit.

2021

Return to live performances in the Northeast

Missing Link played their earliest in-person live sets in late 2021 as live music venues reopened across the United States. The band booked dates throughout New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, sharing bills with regional hardcore acts including Pain of Truth and Gridiron. Appearance at major hardcore festivals

In 2023, Missing Link performed at several prominent American hardcore festivals, including Tied Down in Detroit, Michigan, and Sound and Fury in Los Angeles, California. Boston-based independent hardcore label Triple B Records announced the signing of Missing Link in late 2023. Founded by Sam Yarmuth, Triple B Records had previously released records by bands such as Mindforce, One Step Closer, and Magnitude. The label confirmed that it would release the band's forthcoming debut full-length album the following year. 2024

Release of debut full-length album Watch Me Bleed

On June 7, 2024, Triple B Records released Missing Link's debut studio album, Watch Me Bleed. Evan Perino produced, engineered, and mixed the record at The Hydeaway. The 11-track LP featured guest vocal contributions, including appearances by Bruce LePage, the original vocalist of 100 Demons, on the song Scum of the Earth, and Justice Tripp of Trapped Under Ice and Angel Du$t on Another Cross.

2024

North American touring in support of Watch Me Bleed

Following the June 2024 release of Watch Me Bleed, Missing Link embarked on extensive North American tours throughout the summer and autumn. In September and October 2024, the band toured as direct support on a national run with Nails and 200 Hells. They also performed on the 2024 edition of the This Is Hardcore festival at Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, playing a set featuring songs from the new LP.
