History

Formation and Early Releases (2001–2006)

The genesis of Four Year Strong can be traced back to 2001 in Worcester, MA, where founding members Dan OConnor, Alan Day, and Jake Massucco, alongside an initial bassist, first connected while attending Doherty Memorial High School. This era marked their raw beginnings in the bustling local scene. Their earliest forays into recording included the demo EP *All The Lonely Girls*, showcasing their nascent, high-energy sound. The band quickly followed up with *The Glory EP* in 2003 and another compelling three-track demo in 2004, steadily building their underground presence. It was during this formative period that Joe Weiss joined the fold as the permanent bassist, cementing the lineup that would propel Four Year Strong to prominence. In 2005, fans eagerly embraced their debut full-length studio album, *Its Our Time*, released digitally through Open Your Eyes Records. This pivotal year also saw the band hitting the road, embarking on significant West Coast and Midwest tours throughout October and November, sharing stages with acts like Maida and The Fully Down, laying the groundwork for their dedicated fanbase and reputation as a formidable live act.
