Story of Dystopica

Hailing from Connecticut, Dystopica is a formidable metal band that masterfully blends the raw power of classic heavy metal with the intricate aggression of modern metal. Their distinctive sound is a rich tapestry woven from various subgenres, including heavy metal, progressive metal, thrash, and hard rock. This unique fusion is brought to life through harmonized guitar riffs, epic solos, thunderous bass lines, vigorous drumming, and commanding vocals.

The core lineup features Becky Brideau (vocals), Rob Muller (guitar), Lucas Dellaporta (bass), and Christian “HAM” Peragine (drums). Conor Daly augments the band on live guitar. Dystopica has shared the stage with national acts such as Metal Church, Gemini Syndrome, Adelitas Way, and Deadlands.

Dystopicas prolific discography began with their debut EP, *Perception*, released November 19th, 2021, followed by the *Deception* EP on September 2nd, 2022, both through Pavement Entertainment. Their first full-length album, *Infinite Reflection*, dropped May 17th, 2024, also via Pavement Entertainment, making a significant impact by charting at #7 on the NACC Heavy radio chart. Their fourth release, the *Semblance of Order* EP, arrived on August 15th, 2025 (Pavement Entertainment). This EP further refined their signature sound, expertly combining modern metals intensity with classic heavy metal`s enduring spirit. Semblance of Order achieved impressive chart success, reaching #6 on the NACC Heavy radio chart and #16 on the Metal Contraband radio chart. It also spawned two top 20 charting singles, “This Curse” and “A Semblance of Order,” on The DRT Global Top 50 Rock Airplay Chart. Every Dystopica release has been produced, mixed, and mastered by the acclaimed Nick Bellmore (known for his work with Dee Snider, Corpsegrinder, Hatebreed, Ripper, Many Eyes).

Paying homage to their influences, Dystopica has also delivered compelling covers of iconic tracks. Their renditions of Iron Maiden’s “Flight Of Icarus,” Scorpions’ “Blackout,” and Judas Priest’s “Freewheel Burning” have all garnered airplay on Sirius XM Liquid Metal’s prestigious Corridor of Covers. Notably, their powerful take on “Freewheel Burning” was recognized as one of the top 15 best covers of 2024 on the same program.

Critics have lauded Dystopica`s distinctive sound and powerful performances:

  • Semblance of Order is an assertive, tightly constructed EP that positions Dystopica as a band ready to command attention in the modern metal landscape. With its standout title track, striking video, and carefully crafted production, it is more than a release—it is a statement of intent.” — Suléy Era (on Semblance of Order)
