Story of Paleface Swiss

Paleface Swiss, the formidable titans of Swiss beatdown hardcore, crashed into the music scene in 2017, emerging from the vibrant metal landscape of Zürich. This powerhouse quartet is defined by the visceral, gut-wrenching vocals of frontman Marc "Zelli" Zellweger, the crushing, riff-driven mastery of guitarist Yannick Lehmann, the bone-rattling low-end provided by bassist Tommy Lee, and the relentless, pummelling drums of Cassiano "Cassi" Toma. Their sonic assault has culminated in three studio albums, with their highly anticipated latest offering, Cursed, set to unleash its fury on January 3, 2025, via Blood Blast Distribution – a definitive statement marking their explosive rise in the heavy music world.

History: Forging a Path of Brutality

Initially forming in 2017 under the original moniker Paleface, the band swiftly made their presence known, captivating the hardcore community. Their debut EP, Chapter 1: From The Gallows, dropped in 2018, quickly followed by the intense Chapter 2: Witch King in 2019, firmly establishing their formidable presence. The ambitious plans for their third EP, Chapter 3: The Last Selection, faced an unexpected challenge in May 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Adapting with characteristic resilience, the band pivoted, transforming the EP into their full-length debut album – a defiant and powerful statement during unprecedented times.

Their momentum continued to build with the critically acclaimed 2022 release of their second album, Fear & Dagger, which garnered widespread positive reception for its relentless aggression and tight, punishing musicianship. By 2023, to ensure their unique identity stood out, the band officially rebranded as Paleface Swiss, solidifying their distinct place in the metal scene. This period also saw them drop a series of standalone singles that further amplified their profile, including the uncompromising "Best Before: Death," the intensely personal "Please End Me," and the ferociously heavy "The Gallow," showcasing their consistent creative drive for crafting mosh-pit anthems.

The year 2024 proved to be a monumental breakout for Paleface Swiss, catapulting them into broader international consciousness. As highlighted by influential metal publication Metal Hammer, the band captured global attention with their "extremely heavy blend" – a pulverizing fusion that seamlessly weaves deathcores relentless brutality, hardcores raw, visceral energy, nu metals infectious groove, and thrash metals precision. This devastating, genre-bending sound led to immediate comparisons to the raw, groundbreaking ferocity of early Slipknot, cementing their status as a genre-defying force to be reckoned with. Adding to their surging prominence, charismatic frontman Marc "Zelli" Zellweger lent his signature vocal talents to Left to Suffer`s 2024 single, "Lost in the Dark," further showcasing his individual impact within the extreme music community. With Cursed on the horizon, Paleface Swiss is unequivocally poised to cement their legacy as one of the most exciting and heaviest acts in modern metal.
