Story of Buckcherry

Buckcherry, the electrifying American hard rock outfit, emerged from the sun-drenched streets of Anaheim, California, igniting the rock scene in 1995. Known for their gritty, no-nonsense rock and roll, the band quickly carved out a distinctive niche.

Their initial run saw the release of two pivotal albums: the raw, self-titled debut Buckcherry (1999) and its dynamic follow-up, Time Bomb (2001). The eponymous debut proved to be a landmark release, earning the prestigious RIAA Gold certification and making history as DreamWorks Records` very first album to achieve this commercial success. Despite this early promise, the band entered an unexpected hiatus, dissolving in 2002, much to the disappointment of their burgeoning fanbase.

However, the story of Buckcherry was far from over. A powerful resurgence ignited in 2005 when core members, the irrepressible frontman Josh Todd and the masterful lead guitarist Keith Nelson, reformed the band with a fresh lineup. This phoenix-like return culminated in the release of the game-changing album 15 in 2006. 15 became a massive commercial and critical triumph, delivering some of Buckcherry`s most enduring and widely recognized hits. The album unleashed the raucous, unapologetic rock anthem "Crazy Bitch," a track that became a staple on rock radio and propelled them into mainstream consciousness. Simultaneously, the soulful, melodic power ballad "Sorry" became their first Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten hit, showcasing their versatility and firmly cementing their status as a modern rock powerhouse.

Since their triumphant comeback, Buckcherry has maintained an incredibly prolific and consistent output, further solidifying their legacy in the hard rock landscape. Their extensive discography includes seven additional studio albums released between 2008 and 2023: the hard-hitting Black Butterfly (2008), the energetic All Night Long (2010), the thought-provoking Confessions (2013), the aptly named, pure rock n roll homage Rock n Roll (2015), the potent Warpaint (2019), the hard-grooving Hellbound (2021), and their recent offering, Vol. 10 (2023). Fans eagerly anticipate their eleventh studio album, the forthcoming Roar Like Thunder, slated for a June 2025 release, promising another dose of their signature rock fury.

Origins and Formation (1995–1999)

The foundation of Buckcherry was laid in the vibrant Southern California rock scene, rooted in the upbringing of charismatic frontman Josh Todd. Hailing from the Anaheim Hills neighborhood of Anaheim, California, before later relocating to Lake Forest, Todds musical journey began well before Buckcherrys inception. In his earlier days, Todd lent his distinctive vocal talents to Slamhound, a high-octane Hollywood glam rock band, an experience that undoubtedly refined his stage presence and contributed to the raw, visceral energy that would become a hallmark of Buckcherry`s sound.
