Story of Biffy Clyro

Emerging from Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1995, Biffy Clyro stands as a powerhouse of modern Scottish rock, renowned for their intricate compositions and visceral energy. The foundational trio comprises the incomparable Simon Neil on lead vocals and guitar, alongside the formidable twin brothers James Johnston on bass and backing vocals, and Ben Johnston anchoring the rhythm on drums and backing vocals. This tight-knit unit has expanded its sonic scope in live settings, welcoming long-time touring musicians Mike Vennart (guitar, backing vocals) and Richard "Gambler" Ingram (keyboards, guitar) to elevate their already explosive stage presence.

Currently signed to 14th Floor Records, Biffy Clyro boasts a formidable discography of ten studio albums. While their initial three releases garnered a dedicated cult following, it was 2007`s Puzzle, their pivotal fourth album, that propelled the band into the mainstream consciousness. This critically acclaimed record stormed to an impressive No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and swiftly earned a coveted Platinum certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), signifying a monumental shift in their career trajectory.

Their ascent continued with the release of the acclaimed Only Revolutions in 2009. This fifth studio masterpiece soared to No. 3 in the United Kingdom, achieving Gold status within days and ultimately securing double-platinum certification by August 2011. Testament to its artistic merit, Only Revolutions also garnered a prestigious Mercury Music Prize nomination. The album spawned a string of commercially successful and anthemic singles, including the unforgettable "Mountains," "That Golden Rule," and "Many of Horror" – all of which powerfully broke into the UK Top Ten, cementing Biffy Clyro`s status as alt-rock giants.
