== History ==
=== Formation and Early Ascendance (2007–2010) ===
The Story So Far ignited the burgeoning East Bay Area punk scene in Walnut Creek, California, in 2007. Their evocative name is a direct homage to the iconic New Found Glory track "The Story So Far," signaling their deep roots and influences within the pop-punk genre. The band’s original lineup featured the powerhouse combination of Parker Cannon on lead vocals, Kevin Geyer on lead guitar, Kevin Ambrose on rhythm guitar, Ryan Torf on drums, and Kelen Capener anchoring the basslines.
Their initial offering, the 5 Songs EP, dropped independently on December 22nd, setting the stage for their dynamic sound. An early lineup shift saw Kevin Ambrose depart for college in 2010, with William Levy stepping in to take up rhythm guitar duties. A pivotal moment arrived in March 2010 when The Story So Far announced their signing to Pure Noise Records, a move that would prove instrumental in their rise to prominence. Just two months later, they unleashed their first Pure Noise release, the impactful While You Were Sleeping EP (2010), further solidifying their sonic identity. That November saw the band engaging in a classic punk tradition, releasing a collaborative split EP with Maker.
=== The Defining Albums: Under Soil and Dirt and What You Don`t See Era (2011–2014) ===
The band continued their prolific output into 2011, with Barrett Records releasing another notable collaboration: a split EP between The Story So Far and Morgan Foster in May. This period marked a crucial phase in their career, leading directly to the release of their genre-defining full-length albums.
