Reaping Asmodeia

Minneapolis technical deathcore powerhouse Reaping Asmodeia marked the close of 2025 with the release of "Metempsychosis." This collection, comprising tracks issued throughout the preceding year, celebrates the band’s fifteen-year anniversary and introduces their revitalized lineup, featuring new vocalist Eric Keyes and the return of bassist Jakub Kingery.

"Metempsychosis" itself features two new tracks, “Shattered Leviathan” and “Sanctuary of Poison,” alongside a powerful cover of the Chimaira classic “Nothing Remains.” These compositions are the first to showcase the dynamic of the new and returning members.

Drummer Daniel Koppy offered insights into the band`s current state and the new material: “We are thrilled to welcome Eric and Jakub into the band for the release of the first single ‘Shattered Leviathan’. For those of you who have seen us on the road over the past year, you can tell the vibe on stage between us is exactly where it should be. Having Jakub back with us, and now Eric, has brought an amazing collective feeling of creativity and enthusiasm towards our future as a band."

Delving into the specifics of "Sanctuary of Poison," Koppy elaborated: “‘Sanctuary of Poison’ was written from a different perspective within the band. Not only was it conceptualized to be a counterpoint to our previous single, but we wanted to explore a darker and more groove-oriented sonic element by utilizing the 9-string register more heavily, all while staying true to our technical roots.”

Regarding their tribute to Chimaira, he remarked: "The 20th anniversary of Chimaira`s self-titled album recently passed. They were a pinnacle band in the NWOAHM movement and heavily influenced our early sound and stage presence. Twenty years later, ‘Nothing Remains’ is still as heavy as ever. We hope we did it justice while putting our own spin on it."

As Reaping Asmodeia looks ahead to 2026, with plans to write and release more new music, fans can also anticipate extensive touring. Known for their commanding live performances, having previously shared stages with acts like Born of Osiris, Cryptopsy, Origin, and Signs of the Swarm, the band is poised to unleash their signature brand of chaos on North American stages once again.

The "Metempsychosis" compilation is exclusively available as a vinyl release via Cardinal Sun Records. Meanwhile, the individual tracks featured on the compilation, previously released as singles, can be streamed on all major platforms through Blood Blast Distribution.
