Formed in Japan in March 2015, BiSH—an acronym for Brand-new idol SHiT—emerged as a groundbreaking force that radically redefined the Japanese music landscape. Billed famously as the punk band without instruments, the all-female ensemble shattered traditional idol conventions under the stewardship of agency WACK. Fusing the raw, rebellious ethos of alternative and garage rock with the anthemic hooks of J-pop and J-rock, BiSH carved out a distinct niche that resonated with both underground rock purists and mainstream music fans, eventually finding an international audience through celebrated anime soundtrack themes.

The group rapidly built a prolific catalog, kicking off their ascent with their self-titled 2015 debut album, Brand-new idol SHiT, and its relentless 2016 follow-up, FAKE METAL JACKET. Transitioning to a major label only intensified their musical aggression and creative ambition. Landmark releases such as KiLLER BiSH, THE GUERRiLLA BiSH, and 2019`s CARROTS and STiCKS showcased their dynamic range, balancing blistering punk guitars, driving rhythm sections, and emotionally charged, visceral vocal performances. Their electrifying stage presence and refusal to adhere to standard idol tropes established them as one of the most exciting live acts of their generation.

At the peak of their commercial and critical success, the group adhered to their punk ideals by announcing their planned dissolution, officially disbanding on June 29, 2023, following a historic farewell concert at the Tokyo Dome.
