Poison the Well：硬蕊發展史
來自佛羅里達州邁阿密的 Poison the Well，以狂野原始的能量闖入金屬蕊（metalcore）樂界，吸引了全球硬蕊樂迷的目光。在簽約至 Ferret Music 旗下後，他們憑藉融合侵略性與旋律性的獨特風格，開拓出專屬的一席之地，迅速成為一股不容小覷的力量。
樂團的起源可追溯至 1997 年，當時主唱 Aryeh Lehrer 和主音吉他手 Ryan Primack 組建了 Doubting Thomas，這個名字是由 Lehrer 本人所取。樂團最初活躍於佛羅里達州的珊瑚泉（Coral Springs），他們在 J.P. Taravella 高中磨練音樂實力，隨後才將練團地點遷往邁阿密。
曾效力於 Reaching Out 樂團的資深樂手 Lehrer 隨後招募了前 Side Order 的節奏吉他手 Russel Saunders，以及剛從北卡羅萊納州移居佛羅里達州的貝斯手 Shane Halpern。這個陣容讓樂團的樂風更趨成熟，並在 1997 年 12 月更名為 An Acre Lost，該團名是由 Saunders 的女朋友提議的。
