SCANDAL

Formed on August 21, 2006, in Japan, SCANDAL is an all-female rock outfit that has established itself as one of the most prominent and enduring forces in modern Japanese music. Bursting onto the scene with youthful ferocity, the quartet quickly set themselves apart with their charismatic stage presence, instrumental proficiency, and dynamic vocal harmonies. Over the years, they have evolved from an ambitious indie group into a global touring powerhouse, earning a dedicated international following and cementing their status within the contemporary rock landscape.

Musically, SCANDAL crafts a vibrant, guitar-driven sound rooted primarily in energetic pop rock and melodic power pop. Their versatile catalog frequently draws from the punchy rhythms of pop punk, the gritty immediacy of garage rock, and the expansive textures of alternative rock. This seamless blend allows the group to deliver anthemic, radio-ready hooks underpinned by assertive rhythm sections and sharp guitar interplay, making their music equally appealing to mainstream audiences and rock purists alike.

The band established their commercial and creative momentum through a run of celebrated early records. Following the breakthrough success of their 2009 debut album, BEST SCANDAL, the band maintained a relentless creative pace with acclaimed follow-ups including TEMPTATION BOX in 2010, BABY ACTION in 2011, Queens are trumps -切り札はクイーン- in 2012, and STANDARD in 2013. Through continuous artistic growth, major chart achievements, and an unwavering commitment to authentic musicianship, SCANDAL stands as a defining standard for female rock acts worldwide.
