Formation and debut EP Odyssey

Orbit Culture was formed in 2013 in Eksjö, Sweden, by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlsson and lead guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister. They bonded through mutual friends and started the band, recruiting drummer Markus Bladh and later bassist Christoffer Olsson. The band spent the summer recording their debut EP Odyssey, released in August 2013 with a remastered version following in December. This EP generated local interest, resulting in their first live shows.

Release of first full-length album In Medias Res

Following positive feedback from their debut EP Odyssey, Orbit Culture began working on their first full-length album, In Medias Res. In October 2014, they produced a music video for the song "Obscurity," which aided in promoting the album and expanding their audience.
2016

Line-up changes and second album Rasen

After touring and promoting In Medias Res, lead guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister left the band to focus on academics. Despite this setback, Orbit Culture worked on their second full-length album Rasen, released on March 11, 2016. This year also saw bassist Christoffer Olsson’s departure for academic reasons. He was replaced by Fredrik Lennartsson on bass and Richard Hansson on lead guitar. The band released the music video for "Sun of All," which exceeded 1 million views on YouTube, boosting their recognition in the underground metal community.

In 2018, Orbit Culture released the EP Redfog. Starting with the single "Saw" in March, the band followed with two more singles, "See Through Me" and the title track "Redfog," before the full EP release on April 6, 2018. All three singles were commercial successes, each garnering over a million streams across platforms, demonstrating the band’s growing popularity and solidifying their position in the metal scene.
2019

Drummer change and first international tour

Early in 2019, drummer Markus Bladh left Orbit Culture due to the demands of the band’s schedule. Christopher Wallerstedt was brought in as the new drummer. That same year marked Orbit Culture’s first international tour, supporting Rivers of Nihil, Black Crown Initiate, and MØL. They played their first show outside Sweden in Berlin on September 20, 2019, exposing their music to new audiences and expanding their international presence.
2020

Release of single Nensha and further singles during pandemic

Coinciding with the start of their first live tour in 2019, Orbit Culture released the single "Nensha" through Seek & Strike Records. In February 2020, they followed with a music video and single "Rebirth," followed by the single "The Shadowing" in March. These releases came during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a period challenging for live music, but the band continued to engage their audience through new music and videos, maintaining momentum despite the global situation.

Story of Orbit Culture

Hailing from Eksjö, Sweden, Orbit Culture emerged in 2013 as a melodic death metal force. The current lineup features Niklas Karlsson on vocals and rhythm guitar, Richard Hansson on lead guitar, Fredrik Lennartsson on bass, and Christopher Wallerstedt on drums. The band`s history also includes former members Maximilian Zinsmeister (lead guitar), Christoffer Olsson (bass), and Markus Bladh (drums). Their discography boasts a formidable four studio albums and four EPs, showcasing their evolution within the genre.

Early Days (2013):

Orbit Culture`s genesis lies in the collaboration between vocalist/rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlsson and former guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister. Meeting through mutual friends at age 17, they forged a partnership, establishing a rehearsal space in a repurposed power plant. Zinsmeister, concurrently a member of local act Abstract Noise, brought in drummer Markus Bladh, with bassist Christoffer Olsson joining the ranks later.

The Odyssey Begins (2013):

Quickly following their formation, Karlsson began composing material for their debut EP. Throughout the summer of 2013, the band immersed themselves in the recording, mixing, and production of their first songs. By August 2013, Odyssey was unleashed, marking the beginning of Orbit Culture`s journey.
