Formation of Joyside

Joyside was formed in 2001 by Bian Yuan in China. Starting as an underground rock band, they initially performed in small clubs, establishing themselves in the local music scene. In 2007, Joyside embarked on a significant European tour through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and England, playing to sold-out audiences. This exposure increased their profile both abroad and at home. That same year, they were featured prominently in European media and German television. September 2007 was notable as they played alongside the New York Dolls at the Beijing Pop Festival. This festival performance was highlighted by praise from Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls, who called Joyside his favorite new band and offered to produce their next album. Additionally, they were named one of the top ten bands in China by That's Beijing magazine. Joyside was also the main band in the German documentary "Beijing Bubbles," which focused on the Chinese underground music scene, solidifying their cultural impact.

Reunion of Joyside
