Formation of Rendez-Vous

Rendez-Vous is a French post-punk band formed in Paris in 2012. The founding members were Francis Mallari and Elliot Bethault, who soon expanded the lineup by adding Maxime Gendre and Simon Dubourg. This formation marked the beginning of their journey into the post-punk music scene.

2014

Release of First EP: Rendez-Vous

In 2014, Rendez-Vous released their debut EP titled 'Rendez-Vous' under Zappruder Records. This early work introduced their energetic post-punk sound and helped establish their presence in the European alternative music scene.

2015

European Tour Begins

2016

Release of Second EP: Distance

Rendez-Vous released their second EP, 'Distance,' in 2016 through AVANT! Records. The EP was mixed by Ben Greenberg from The Men. The self-titled single 'Distance' was notably recognized by Les Inrockuptibles magazine, which included it in their list of the 100 best songs of the year, an important critical acclaim for the band.

2017

Recognition through Burger Records Compilation

In 2017, the single 'The Others' by Rendez-Vous was selected by Burger Records to represent France in the Burger World Compilation. This selection highlighted the band's growing international recognition and influence among indie and alternative music audiences.

2018

Release and Acclaim of First Full Album: Superior State

Rendez-Vous released their debut full-length album, 'Superior State,' on October 26, 2018. This album was a co-production between their own label Artefact and the Parisian label CryBaby. The album's release was marked by notable singles such as 'Double Zero,' 'Superior State,' and 'Sentimental Animal,' the last of which featured the band members in the video for the first time. Critically, 'Superior State' was very well received, ranking number one in Post-Punk.com's best albums of 2018 list and reaching third place in Les Inrockuptibles' 2018 Top 20 songs, making Rendez-Vous the first French group to achieve such recognition.

Rendez-Vous: Parisian Post-Punk Pioneers

Rendez-Vous, hailing from the vibrant music scene of Paris, France, emerged in 2012 as a force of post-punk energy. The band, formed by the dynamic duo of Francis Mallari and Elliot Bethault, quickly expanded, welcoming Maxime Gendre and Simon Dubourg into the fold.

Their debut EP, aptly titled "Rendez-Vous," dropped in 2014 on Zappruder Records, marking their arrival on the French indie scene. This release fueled their first European tours in the summer of 2015, igniting a passionate following across the continent.

In 2016, Rendez-Vous upped the ante with their "Distance" EP, expertly mixed by Ben Greenberg of The Men and released on their new label, AVANT! Records.
