1995

Formation of Good Charlotte and Early Development

Good Charlotte was formed in 1995 in Waldorf, Maryland, by twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden. They started the band with the aim of pursuing music full-time, focusing on getting the band signed by record labels. They were soon joined by Paul Thomas (bass), who was connected to the brothers through family, and guitarist Billy Martin, who became a member after moving in with the brothers.
