Frozen Soul

Frozen Soul was founded in 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. The band emerged within the American death metal scene, bringing together members Chad Green (vocals), Michael Munday (guitar), Samantha Mobley (bass), Brady Trip (drums), and Daniel Schmuck (guitar). Their formation marked the beginning of a new presence in death metal characterized by their heavy, aggressive style and thematic focus on cold, ice-related imagery. This foundation laid the groundwork for their early explorations into death metal aesthetics and sound.

In 2019, Frozen Soul released their debut EP titled 'Encased in Ice,' which helped establish their reputation in the death metal community. This early work showcased their brutal sound intertwined with icy thematic elements, setting them apart from many contemporaries. The same year saw initial lineup adjustments: drummer Brady Trip was replaced by Matt Dennard in 2019, and guitarist Daniel Schmuck departed, leading to shifts in the band’s dynamic and shaping their subsequent musical output and live performances.

The year 2020 was marked by further lineup evolution for Frozen Soul. Guitarist Raymond Macdonald, who joined after Daniel Schmuck's departure, left the band, and Chris Bonner was welcomed as the new guitarist. These changes contributed to the band's evolving sound and compositional style, which would become more pronounced with their debut studio album. The band solidified their core members, setting a stable lineup that would carry through into their most formative years.

Frozen Soul released their debut full-length studio album 'Crypt of Ice' in 2021. This album was a significant milestone, establishing them as a serious force within the death metal genre. 'Crypt of Ice' featured a blend of traditional death metal elements merged with the band’s distinctive cold, frosty themes, creating an immersive atmosphere. The album received attention for its aggressive riffs, guttural vocals, and icy thematic consistency, helping to expand their fanbase and solidify their brand identity.

In May 2023, Frozen Soul released their sophomore album 'Glacial Domination,' which marked a high point in their career in terms of artistic achievement. This album showcased a refined blend of traditional death metal and hardcore influences, earning praise for its intensity and innovation within the genre. Produced by Matt Heafy of Trivium, the album benefited from high production values and notable collaboration, enhancing the band’s profile in both wider metal circles and hardcore communities. 'Glacial Domination' solidified Frozen Soul’s reputation as a band capable of evolving while retaining their core death metal roots.
