Formation of The Warning

The Warning is a Mexican rock band formed in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2013 by the Villarreal Vélez sisters: Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. Raised in a musical environment, the sisters pursued rock music inspired partly by their frequent playing of the video game Rock Band. They chose their primary instruments—Daniela on guitar and vocals, Paulina on drums and vocals, and Alejandra on bass guitar and backing vocals—and formed a power trio. They began learning rock songs and uploading performance videos to YouTube, marking the start of their musical journey.
2014

Viral Success with Metallica Cover

In 2014, The Warning gained widespread attention after their YouTube performance of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral, receiving over 26 million views. The sisters were between ages 9 and 14 at the time, showcasing remarkable skill for such young musicians. Their performance caught the eye of Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who praised particularly the drumming of 12-year-old Paulina.
